When it comes to red carpets, and life in general, we’re pretty sure Jennifer Lawrence can do no wrong. I mean, who doesn’t want to be her new bestie? Anyone who takes a spill in a dress shaped like a cupcake, and then laugh about it is ok by us! Not only is she fierce on the red carpet at events, she pulls off some pretty awesome looks in the (also, awesome) movies she makes! It’s certain, whether Jennifer is sleeping in trees as Katniss Everdeen, or walking the red carpet at an award show, we here at Planet Beauty have a serious girl crush on her! Read on for a few examples of why, and maybe even a how-to to make yourself resemble the coolest girl in Hollywood!
How many other leading ladies in Hollywood change their hair color according to how they feel? Not many, but Miss Jennifer Lawrence is often seen out and about with different hair colors. To play Katniss Everdeen, she rocks dark brown, curly hair, to play Tiffany in Silver Linings Playbook her hair was almost black, and for awards show season, she was seen with light brown, carmel highlighted hair. Typically, she has her hair styled to up-do perfection to walk a red carpet or attend an event, but we always like a great wave to her hair. To copy Jennifer’s waves, add some wave spray to towel dried hair– this blogger can’t live without the Philip B Maui Wowie mist– and blow dry. Then, spray a strong hold hair spray on your hair, and brush through (this blogger’s secret to having long lasting, not crunchy curls!) before wrapping one to one and a half inch sections around a one inch clipless curling iron. Hold for a few seconds and release. Once finished, spray your hair again with a medium hold working spray, like Alterna’s Caviar Working Spray, which will keep your style without making your hair stiff or crunchy.
Short of getting face replacement surgery and actually looking like Jennifer Lawrence, you can just steal her makeup style! This girl has the face that makeup artists love, because her porcelain skin and blue eyes can wear almost any color and look. One look we love is a more natural look that she rocked to a premiere, with just a touch of bronzer and gold eye shadow. Although Jennifer doesn’t need to wear a ton of makeup on her face, some of us beauties (cough this blogger cough) kind of like a matte, full coverage face. However you choose to do your complexion, make sure everything is blended in, and you don’t look too over done. Moving on to your eyes, sweep a bronze colored shimmer shadow over your entire lid, just up to your brow bone, like Jane Iredale shadow in Dusk. This will increase the size of your eye lid, making your eyes look huge and open. Carefully line your eyes with a thicker black, liquid liner, flicking out the edges just barely. This blogger likes the pen from Smashbox for a precise line, every time. Apply two coats of black mascara, or apply some barely-there falsies for a little added drama. Swipe some nude or light pink gloss on and you’re read for the spotlight!
Whether she’s running through the forest on screen or tripping on the stairs of the Dolby theatre, Jennifer Lawrence always has a smile on her face, making her approachable and friendly looking. Remember, Audrey Hepburn said “happy girls are the prettiest girls” so keep smiling, beauty!
