Riddle me this: what’s more classy for an awards show than a classic black dress? That’s right, pretty much nothing–and the stars of Hollywood were styled to Old- Hollywood black glamour perfection last weekend at the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards in Los Angeles. Seen on the red carpet were the very classic and always chic loose waves pulled to once side, and very cherry red lips. And can we talk about the fashions? Stars really knocked it out of the park with this one– read on to see what stars took chances and made their mark!
Two words for best dressed: Marion. Cotillard. Did you SEE that gorgeous teal and white strapless Dior by Raf Simons gown, with an ivory silk faille bustier and high-low skirt? Her short bob hairstyle was the exception to the evening’s many side-swept waves, and it was so very French and chic, just like her! Paired with a smoky eye and nude lips, this beauty nailed the red carpet!
With so many beautiful actresses in one place, you would think they were all scrambling over each other to be named “best look of the night”, but the best makeup look is going to Ms. Claire Danes! Rocking an off the shoulder drape dress, Claire’s hair was pulled back into a messy bun, and topped off the look with minimal makeup except for a gorgeous and surprising chocolate brown lipstick. You’ll remember this past fall when stars were rocking brownish lipstick all over the place, but the trend is apparently still alive and kicking! We think it looks fab, Claire! To copy her look, sweep a peachy shadow from lashes to your crease, this blogger likes Smashbox’s “Headshot” trio, using the shade called “Flamingo” to get a great peach toned, vibrant hued eye shadow. Because you don’t want a super dark lash line, use a dark brown toned liner, and draw it very close to your lashes. Then, follow with either fake lashes, or, a favorite of this blogger: Too Faced’s Better than False Lashes mascara, which uses a three step process to build and expand your lashes! To crib her lip look, snatch up Smashbox’s Be Legendary lipstick in Mocha, which will give a full coverage brown hued lip color that isn’t too intense for event he fairest beauties.
For a classic Red Carpet hair definite do, we’re shifting focus to the always perfectly polished Amanda Seyfried, Her long, blond locks are always styled to perfection, but her look for the SAG awards was remarkable! Not too curly, not too straight, and pulled to one side to reflect old- Hollywood glam. To copy her look, create a deep side part on your best side, and spray the part line with a strong hold hair spray– this till keep your hair in place, and also keep the frizzies away from the sleekness. Wrap one-inch sections of your hair around a large barrel curling iron– we’re talking 31mm/1 1/4 inch. The, pull all of your hair to the opposite side of your part, and set with a finishing spray to keep your look all night long!
