Wedding season is around the corner, beauties! Surely you know someone getting hitched, or maybe you’re the one tieing the knot! Either way, these tried and true beauty tips form celeb stylists and beautifiers will have you– or your bridezilla friend– looking marvelous from the ceremony to the bouquet toss!
First and foremost, let’s talk about your beautiful face! Many brides opt to get their makeup done by a professional (one less thing to worry about!) but if you’re doing your own makeup, it is a good idea to schedule a makeup lesson with a licensed professional to teach you everything you need to know about bridal makeup and makeup in general. This will give you confidence and knowledge that will last way past your wedding day (think pictures that last a lifetime!). Making sure you wear the right foundation shade sounds easy enough (hey, we do it every day!) but some brides don’t realize that their every day face isn’t always the best wedding day face. If the thought of waterproof mascara turns you into the runaway bride, apply one coat of your favorite mascara and follow up with a light swipe of the waterproof stuff.
When it comes to wedding day hair, we all expect to feel like a beautiful princess! You want a hairstyle that helps you feel that way, but isn’t so far different from your normal ‘do that you are unrecognizable to the guy at the end of the aisle! When you’re getting your hair styled, a low counter with a mirror — like a vanity table — will work best. Check to see that your chair has a low back, so your wedding hair stylist will have easy access to your head. And make sure there are electrical outlets nearby for appliances such as hair dryers, curling irons, and electric rollers. For extra insurance, bring a few extension cords.If your wedding is early, or if time is of the essence, plug in your rollers, curling iron, or straightening iron before your stylist arrives to save time. Also, when it comes to products, more hair spray is not necessarily better. Too much of it can weigh down the hair and give it a dull finish.
