Time to talk about something serious, beauties. Being beautiful is not just about what you do to enhance your outward appearance, it’s also about how you prettify yourself on the inside! Here in Orange County, where Planet Beauty came to life and many of our locations are found, there is certainly no shortage of beautiful people and beautiful things. Unfortunately, there is also no shortage of people and children in need.
There are children who are suffering from abuse and neglect in their own homes. These children need someone to stand up for them and make sure that their present doesn’t become their future. Each year, more than 700,000 children experience foster care in this country.
Thankfully, there are organizations like CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for Children that is comprised of regular citizens like you and me who help these children in need. The mission of the National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association, together with its state and local members, is to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy so that every abused or neglected child can be safe, establish permanence and have the opportunity to thrive. CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives. Judges appoint CASA volunteers to represent the best interests of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect.
Another organization near and dear to the Planet Beauty family is Kids Prevention, an organization that focuses on the early identification and treatment of underserved and at-risk school-age children and adolescents who struggle in school due to learning and/or social-emotional issues, facilitating success as learners and productive citizens. The mission at Kids’ Potential is to positively impact families beyond direct services by empowering those closest to students, parents/caregivers, and educators, to identify and support these needs.
So what can you do to help? Well, one of the easiest ways is by just washing your hair! “SAY WHAT?!” Yes, beauties, for a limited time, buying shampoo at your local PB can help donate money to these amazing organizations. Planet Beauty has partnered with Kids Prevention, CASA, and the revolutionary hair care line Colure to donate proceeds from a special trio pack of Colure’s best selling shampoo, conditioner, and styling cream to these worthy organizations. You’ll also receive a coupon to come back and get an additional discount on your next purchase!
In these trio packs, you’ll find the incredibly hydrating “Richly Moisturize” shampoo and conditioner, as well as a favorite product of this blogger: Curl Wave Styling Crème! If you’ve never used Colure, now is the perfect time to try! These packs retail for $46.00, meaning you get the styling product for free, and are available now at all Planet Beauty locations!
Taking care of your soul is just as important as taking care of your skin; and these organizations are the perfect place to give back. For more information, visit their websites!
